| ROUND THE ISLAND ( full day
) This tour is designed with the scenery lover
in mind, providing the opportunity to see many beautiful spots on the island. The day
starts on the West coast with a pleasant drive through the villages Trianda, Kremasti,
Paradisi and Soroni and on to Kamiros where we'll take a coffee-break in front of the
water. From here the road winds up into the mountains to the village of Sianna; here you
can visit: a modern Greek Orthodox church and another one which dates back a thousand
years, or simply relax and sample the delicious honey and Suma -a very potent local drink
for which the village is famous-. |

LINDOS & ARCHANGELOS ( full day ) Rhodians are proud to boast that Lindos is Greece's number one beauty spot. It is situated at 34 miles from Rhodes town on the East Coast. 'En route', you pass through some of the most attractive villages on the island, and you will stop to visit a ceramic factory. The village of Lindos is dominated by the Acropolis and the temple of the Goddess 'Athena', which dates back to the 4th century B.C. . The Acropolis was fortified in the Middle Ages and the ruins of these medieval walls can still be seen encircling the temple. Lunch will be taken by the beach-side taverna, where you can relax in an idyllic setting. In the afternoon the tour stops at Archangelos, a village famed for its carpers.Here you will get the opportunity to visit a carpet factory and a typical pleasant house! |
FILERIMOS AND THE VALLEY OF THE BUTTERFLIES ( half day ) This tour covers three major sights on the West of the island. Filerimos
is the modern day for the Acropolis of the ancient city of Ialyssos. Today only ruins
remain of the 4 th century temple. Another famous attraction in Filerimos is the church of
Our Lady which was originally built in the 14th century, but has been restored many times.
The valley of the butterflies is the home of thousands of butterflies during the summer;
in winter you can enjoy the beauty of the valley and hear the story of the Rhodes'
Butterflies. |

LINDOS ( half day ) After a lovely drive along the picturesque Eastern coastine, scattered with whitewashed villages, we reach Lindos, one of the most spectacular sights in Greece. We either walk or ride on donkeys to the Acropolis, where besides an unforgetable view of the surroundings and the St. Paul's harbour, you will see the remains of three different civilizations. On the way you visit local handicrafts. |
SYMI / PANORMITIS ( full day ) A two hours
cruise will bring you to SYMI, with its almost landlocked harbour surrounded by
picturesque houses nearly touching the pier. Later we sail S.W. of the town to the
monastry of Panormitis with its old church, fescoes, icons, library and small maritime
museum. A day spent , relaxing on dek, on a peacefull small island, bathing and lunching
in small taverna's. |

VILLAGE PARY A well organised village party implies folklore music and dance, good food and especially unlimited wine-drinking on one of the squares of the picturesque villages. You will spend a few hours with the villagers and dance and drink with them. Tour conductor, food & wine are included. |
| KOS ( full day ) A superfast ferry takes you in two hours to the lovely island of Kos. You
spent 8 hours on the island, and during this time you can explore the island either by
bicycle or by foot. Kos is smaller than Rhodes and rather flat. In the city of Kos you may
find many interesting things such as musea, Roman mosaics, temples and a 'Johannes'
castle. You may surely not forget the'Plataan of Hippocrates'; this is a huge tree with a
width of 12m. In the 5th Century B.C.. Hippocrates, father of medicine-science was born on
this island. He built here the Asklepion. In Kos was the biggest hospital from Old Greece,
the medical school of Hippocrates and the temple of Asklepius. |
